Honours even as L&Y looked to over take league leaders

Maybe the moment was too much.

With such a good week at training, Lowestoft & Yarmouth Rugby Club where riding high and feeling confident. The start of the game was not what L&Y had planned with Southwold scoring within the first few minutes and L&Y having a player sent to the Sin Bin with a yellow card.

With Lowestoft having to start again and try to put the start behind them, Southwold took advantage of this and their scrum half scoring another try followed by a conversion.
After resetting once again Lowestoft came back with some great set moves and ended up close to the try line but were held up by the defence, but with quick hands Jack Thrubon was able to go over line and score for Lowestoft.

During this time both teams had players sin binned again on yellow cards.

L&Y took advantage and Alex Marshall did some amazing running through the defensive line to score a try, followed by Joseph Brighty kicking for another 2 points.

After some serious half time team talk Lowestoft and Yarmouth came back to life and started playing some lovely rugby and with Daniel Lawerence going over to score with the help of the forwards and another 2 points from Joseph.

With Lowestoft in the lead and only 15 minutes left in the game everything was working well, the team were playing as a unit and because of their work, Tom cooper was able to run down the side line but his run was radically cut short for what some called "a challenge straight out of WWE” and resulted in putting Tom out of the game and having to be carried off into the changing rooms.

With most of the Lowestoft & Yarmouth players concerned about their team mate sustaining a serious injury they went to his aid, but with the referee allowing the game to carry on Southwold took full advantage of being unchallenged and took the ball and run the full length of the pitch and scored.

This made the match a draw at 19 each, both teams had played well and are looking forward for the return match.
