Fantastic Win for the Drifter Boys

Playing rugby at Gunton Park on Saturday was no place for the faint hearted, a strong looking Broadland side arrived to play a much changed Drifters side.

Lowestoft started with the strong wind behind them and used this to control the game tieing in the bigger Broadland pack. Sam Hill and Jack Walker linked well at 9 and 10 producing quick ball for debut wingers Will Hilton and Ethan Harrowven who were helped by the return of evergreen full back Gareth Bowker. Lowestoft built a steady lead and were 39 - 0 up at half time. The last of these points were scored by Craig Oakes who powered his way over for his first try in 3 years.

Lowestoft made changes at half time and with the wind against them at the start of the second half the game became a "middle of the park battle" which was only ended by a superb midfield break by a lively Olly Curtis and rounded off by the ever present Robbie Gardener.

Broadland managed a good spell of pressure and possession form the kick off and rounded this off with a series of pick and goes which drew in the Lowestoft cover for them to score out wide.

The last socre of the game came forma great burst from Luc Breij which saw three Broadland defenders hanging off him but he still managed a perfect back of the hand pass to the support which was scored under the posts. This along with five other tries was converted to round off a near perfect display from Jack Walker.
