Minis Rugby

The Minis section includes all teams from Under 6 to Under 12. We are proud to operate as one united group, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for every child.

Training and Fixtures: Sundays, 10:00–11:30 AM

Cost: All training and matches are free of charge once membership is paid

We follow the RFU’s Age Grade Rugby
guidelines:

Under 6s focus solely on fun training sessions.
Under 7s and Under 8s play non-contact Tag Rugby.
Each subsequent age group is gradually introduced to new elements of the game in a safe and structured way.
Girls and boys play together up to Under 12s, after which girls can progress to our dedicated Girls’ Section, the Dragons.

Safeguarding and player safety are our top priorities. We follow the RFU continuum to introduce contact and rules progressively, ensuring the game is always taught in the safest possible manner. No prior rugby experience is required.

Our aim is to introduce children to rugby, promote its unique ethos, and embed the RFU Core Values: Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, and Sportsmanship.

We actively encourage volunteers—whether you’d like to help with coaching, organising, driving, or making tea! Training and kit are provided where necessary.
